Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eye — May cause irritation, burning and possible corneal injury.

Skin —May cause irritation, swelling, burning and possible skin damage.

Inhalation — Excessive inhalation of vapor at high concentration are irritating to the nasal and respiratory tract.  May cause headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and malaise.

Ingestion — Toxic and corrosive.  Can cause sever burns and complete tissue perforation of mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, esophagus and stomach.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated – None Known

Emergency and First Aid Procedures. 

Eye—Remove contact lenses immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  Seek immediate medical attention.

Skin—Flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  Change contaminated clothing and shoes immediately and launder before reuse.

Inhalation—Remove affected person to fresh air.  Give oxygen or apply artificial respiration if needed.

Ingestion—Do not give anything to unconscious or convulsing person.  Do not induce vomiting, unless medical personnel determine if vomiting or evacuating of stomach is necessary.  Give large quantity of water to drink.  Seek immediate medical attention.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled.

Wear suitable protective equipment.  Stop spills or leak at source.  Dike area of spills to prevent spreading, pump liquid to salvage tank.  Remaining liquid may be taken up on sand, clay earth or other absorbent material and shoveled into container for further proper disposal.  Ventilate spill area during clean up procedures.

Waste Disposal Method –

Waste material and contaminated absorbent may be disposed of in a landfill in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –

Keep containers closed and use with adequate ventilation.  Do not reuse container.
