Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eyes—Avoid contact with eyes. May cause severe irritation.

Skin—Wash thoroughly after using.

Inhalation—May cause nasal or respiratory tract irritation.  Can cause central nervous system effects including fatigue, dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting.  Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal.

Ingestion— Not likely in normal use but swallowing large amounts may be harmful.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated –None established.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures: 

Eyes—Flush immediately with water for 15 minutes, seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Skin— Wash effected area with soap and water.

Inhalation—Remove from exposure; call a physician in case of complaints.

Ingestion—Do NOT induce vomiting, call a physician. Wash out mouth with water if person is conscious.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled–

Remove all sources of ignition.  Ventilate area. Spills should be absorbed with liquid-binding material, and placed in a leak proof container.

Waste Disposal Method – Dispose of residue in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –

Keep markers capped when not in use.  Do not store above 120ºF (49ºC).  Store in a cool ventilated area away from heat, sparks, or flame.

Do not store or use near heat, sparks, or flame.

Other Precautions – Do not smoke while using this product. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact. Do not breathe vapors.

Section VIII – Control Measures

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) – Use a NIOSH/MSHA respitory device in case of insufficient ventilation or if exposure limits are exceeded.  For concentrations above the TLV (as defined in Section II), use a positive air supplied respirator.

Ventilation

General ventilation to maintain exposure limits below TLV’s as defined in section II.

Protective Gloves –Not required for minor contact. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Eye Protection –.Not normally required if used as intended. Wear chemical splash goggles if splashing is anticipated.

Work/Hygienic Practices – Observe good hygiene.  Wash hands thoroughly after eating, drinking, and using restrooms, etc
