Special Fire Fighting Procedures – Full protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus, is recommended to protect from combustion products.  Cool exposed containers with water.

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards – Flammable!  Material will readily ignite at room temperature.  Vapors may form and explosive mixture with air.  Vapors can travel long distances to a source of ignition and flashback.  Eliminate sources of ignition: heat, electrical equipment, sparks, and flames.  Do not put in contact with oxidizing or caustic materials.

Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

Eyes—May cause eye irritation.

Skin—May irritate skin.  Prolonged or repeated contact can result in defatting and drying of the skin, which may result in skin irritation and dermatitis (rash).

Inhalation— Vapor harmful if inhaled.  Vapor may irritate nose and upper respiratory tract.  Vapor inhalation may affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea.

Ingestion—This material may be harmful or fatal if swallowed.  Aspiration of material into the lungs due to vomiting can cause chemical pneumonitis, which can be fatal.  If ingested, this product may cause vomiting, diarrhea, and depressed respiration.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated –None Known

Emergency and First Aid Procedures:

Eyes—Flush with large quantities of water until irritation subsides.

Skin—Wash with soap and water

Inhalation—Remove to fresh air.  If not breathing, give artificial respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Ingestion—DO NOT INDUCE VOMITTING.  If irritation or complications arise, contact a physician or Regional Poison Control Center immediately.

Section VII – Precautions For Safe Handling and Use

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled–

Dike spill area.  Immediately eliminate sources of ignition.  Use absorbent material or scrape up dried material and place into containers.

Waste Disposal Method – Dispose of residue in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing –

Store away from caustics and oxidizers.  Keep away from heat, spark, and flame.  Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.  Keep containers from excessive heat and freezing.  Do not store at temperatures above 120ºF.

Other Precautions – KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.  Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling vapors may be harmful or fatal.  Do not take internally.  Construction and repair activities can adversely affect indoor air quality.  Consult with occupants or a representative (i.e. maintenance, building manager, industrial hygienist, or safety officer) to determine ways to minimize any impact.

Section VIII – Control Measures

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) –

If 8 hour exposure limit or value is exceeded for any component, use an approved NIOSH/OSHA respirator.
