Fire Fighting Procedures – Use NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus and complete protective clothing when fighting chemical fires. Water spray may be ineffective on fire but can be used to protect fire fighters and cool closed containers. This product is not flammable but reacts with some metals to form flammable hydrogen gas.

Signs and symptoms of Exposure: Eyes—Contact with the eyes may result in severe irritation and permanent injury may occur. Skin— Liquid is corrosive to eyes and skin. Call physician for burns or if irritation persists. Inhalation—Inhalation of mists can damage upper respiratory tract. Can cause severe irritation to the nose and nasal passages and lungs. May enter the bloodstream and cause damage to other organs. Ingestion—Ingestion may cause severe irritation or burns of the mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, esophagus, and stomach. Ingestion can cause severe abdominal distress and may be fatal.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures. Eyes—Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medial attention. Skin—Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with soap and water. Inhalation—Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. Get medical attention. Ingestion—Call a physician immediately! Do not induce vomiting. Give 1-2 glasses of water to dilute, follow with egg whites or mineral oil. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration of liquid into the lungs. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get immediate medical attention.

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled. Small Spills— Flush area with water to an industrial sewer line. Large Spills— Contain spill and ventilate area. Permit only trained personnel wearing full protective equipment to enter spill area. Collect the spill in a waste container or remove with a vacuum truck. Dispose of in a certified class one disposal facility.
Waste Disposal Method – Dispose of residue in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storing – *Handling—* Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Avoid breathing product vapors and mists. Do not take internally. Wash thoroughly after handling this material. Storage— Keep container closed when not in use. This material should be stored at moderate temperatures. Store in a cool, dry place. The empty container is hazardous.

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type) – Use a NIOSH-approved respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus.
Protective Gloves – Wear protective gloves made of neoprene or rubber.							Eye Protection – Wear chemical safety goggles.
Other protective Clothing or Equipment – Emergency showers, eyewash station, and fire blankets should be accessible. Wear protective clothing.
Work/Hygienic Practices – Observe good hygiene. Wash hands thoroughly after eating, drinking, and using restrooms, etc.
